Congressman James Sensenbrenner, a Republican member of the US Congress who has served since 1979, has quietly entered the Catholic Church.
Sensenbrenner, who had been Episcopalian, was received into the Catholic Church in a private ceremony on August 25. His office has confirmed his conversion, but declined further comment, saying that the legislator "sees this as a private matter."

Cheers for him. But as a public figure, this is not a private matter. This reflects the secular view that our faith belongs inside the church and not in the public square. My prayers for him.

I've heard the man on the radio and he is quite sensible. May his faith grow daily.
