North Korea fires test missiles in show of force as Pope's plane approaches Seoul
Catholic World News - August 14, 2014
North Korea launched three missiles into the Sea of Japan on August 14, in an unexpected display of military force on the morning of Pope Francis' arrival in South Korea.
The missiles were fired from a rocket-launcher beginning about an hour before the Pope's plane arrived in Seoul. The launches posed no immediate threat to the papal flight, but put South Korean forces on higher alert.
