Muslim militants organize to set up Islamic state in Indonesian province
August 12, 2014
Islamic militants are aggressively recruiting support for an Islamic state in the Indonesian province of Aceh, the AsiaNews service reports.
Thousands of Muslims have reportedly taken vows of loyalty to Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi, who has called for the establishment of Islamic rule in Aceh, in Indonesia’s most heavily Islamic area. Many of the recruits are veterans of fighting in Afghanistan or religious clashes in the Moluccas province.
