Federico Cafiero De Raho, a prosecutor in Reggio Calabria, said that the typical leader of the ‘Ndrangheta crime syndicate “believes he is above the Pope.” The attitudes of the crime families are pagan, he said, and condemnations from the Church will have an impact.
