‘No longer a holy land,’ says Jerusalem patriarch

The Latin patriarch of Jerusalem has again lamented the cycle of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, describing the region as “no longer a holy land” and the situation as “no longer a normal life.”
“As much as we were happy and optimistic with the visit of the Holy Father [in May] and the prayer for peace in the Vatican [in June], so we are now in distress,” said Archbishop Fouad Twal.
“Once again we call upon the various parties to return to dialogue, and, also, remind that the role of the Church is to neither adopt one side nor the other, but to call for the peace of Jerusalem,” the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem added in its coverage of the patriarch’s comments.

Hamas is a terrorist group and it is quite willing to continue their acts of terror. Trying to walk a fine line will only get you so far, call it like it is.

Would that more churchmen followed this prudent prescription instead of endlessly repeating inanities about the chimerical "two state solution".
