Church child-protection policies are advancing on target, reports Vatican expert

July 11, 2014

The Catholic Church is moving ahead on schedule with plans to protection children from sexual abuse, and could now share its knowledge with other institutions, according to the head of the Center for the Protection of Minors at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

Father Hans Zollner spoke to Vatican Radio, putting the Church’s worldwide efforts into perspective after the meeting between Pope Francis and a small group of abuse victims. Father Zollner is also a member of the new commission set up by the Pontiff to supervise the development and implementation of child-protection policies.
