Rejecting the Mafia means changing a way of life, says Italian bishop

Following up on the Pope’s condemnation of organized crime, the secretary-general of the Italian bishops’ conference has said that rejection of the Mafia entails a change in the way of life for many Italians.

Bishop Nunzio Galantino of Cassanto allo Jonio said that the message of Pope Francis, who said that Mafia figures have cut themselves off from the Church, should be “the cornerstone of a new lifestyle.”
