Tijuana archbishop suspends 7 priests

June 19, 2014

Archbishop Rafael Romo Muñoz of Tijuana has suspended seven priests who have been accused of sexually abusing minors, according to San Diego’s leading newspaper.

All of the alleged victims were teenagers.

The Archdiocese of Tijuana issued a statement deploring the sexual abuse of minors, urging victims to report abuse to civil authorities, and emphasizing that the priests, who are under investigation by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
