At audience, Pope appears recovered from 'indisposition'
June 11, 2014
After clearing his schedule for two days to rest and recover from a “mild indisposition,” Pope Francis showed no ill effects during his regular public audience on June 11.
The Pope began his weekly audience early, meeting with elderly and sick people in the Paul VI auditorium an hour before his regular midday appearance in St. Peter’s Square. “We thought it was better for you to stay here in peace, where it is a little cooler,” he explained.
However, the Holy Father himself spent more than an hour in the Square, where temperatures soared above 90 degrees. Along with his prepared remarks, he offered greetings to some of the groups attending the audience, and added offhand remarks, showing no signs of illness or fatigue.
