Chinese police arrest leader of 'underground' Catholic Church
Catholic World News - June 09, 2014
A Chinese priest of the ‘underground’ Catholic Church is being held by government officials.
Father John Peng Weizhao, the apostolic administrator of the Yujiang diocese, was taken into custody on May 30, and his current whereabouts are not known. Eyewitnesses told the UCANews service that officials of the government’s religious-affairs department were on hand when Father Peng was arrested, but those officials now say that they no nothing about his arrest.
