Chaldean Catholic Church to hold synod

May 27, 2014

The Chaldean Catholic Patriarchate has published a prayer for the upcoming Chaldean Catholic synod, which will be held in Baghdad from June 24 to 28.

The synod will examine the situation of Chaldean Catholics in Iraq and abroad, the scarcity of priestly and monastic vocations, and the “renewed liturgy,” according to the Chaldean Catholic Patriarchate.

The Chaldean Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic church in full communion with the Holy See, has 419,000 members, according to the Catholic Near East Welfare Association.
