New Zealand's governor-general meets with Pontiff

Pope Francis met on May 15 with Sir Jerry Mateparae, the governor-general of New Zealand.
A Vatican statement released after the meeting indicated that the conversation focused on the economic and social life of New Zealand, the contributions of the Catholic Church, regional development, and peace missions.
