'Black mass' cancelled as hundreds join in Eucharistic adoration at Harvard

A black mass that was to take place on the campus of Harvard University on May 12 was cancelled just hours before the scheduled event. But a Catholic church near Harvard Square was packed for a Eucharistic holy hour.
Hundreds of Boston-area Catholics joined in a Eucharistic procession across the city of Cambridge, organized in response to the threat of the blasphemous ritual. Arriving at St. Paul’s church, the mostly young participants joined in adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
A spokesman for the Satanic Temple, the group that had planned to stage the black mass at Harvard’s Memorial Hall, claimed that the ritual had taken place later in the evening, in a private room at a nearby restaurant.
