Irish dioceses receive high grades for child-protection policies

An independent review panel set up by the Irish Catholic bishops has given high grades to several Irish dioceses for their implementation of child-protection policies.

The National Board for Safeguarding Children issued favorable reports on the policies in place in the Archdiocese of Dublin and the dioceses of Meath, Cloyne, and Killaloe. The Board was more guarded in its appraisal of steps taken by religious orders in Ireland to prevent abuse.
