Nigerian cardinal demands 'concrete' action to release Boko Haram kidnap victims

Catholic World News - May 12, 2014

Cardinal John Onaiyekan of Abuja has called for “concrete action” to free the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram, the Fides news agency reports

Cardinal Onaiyekan complained that despite the enormous public outcry over the mass kidnappings, “we are hearing practically nothing concrete” about plans to arrange the girls’ release. He said that the Nigerian government appears “impotent” in the fact of the terrorist threat.
