Memorial to John Paul II vandalized in Krakow

April 24, 2014

Vandals defaced a memorial to Pope John Paul II in central Krakow, Poland, just days before the canonization of the Polish Pontiff.

The stone memorial, in the city where the future Pontiff served as archbishop, was splattered with paint. City workers are scrubbing the memorial to remove the paint before the April 27 canonization celebration.
