Canonizations are no reason for nostalgia, says secretary to Pope John XXIII

The cardinal who once served as private secretary to Pope John XXIII told Vatican Radio that the canonization of his former boss is not a reason for nostalgia.
Cardinal Loris Capovilla explained that Pope John XXIII himself insisted that the leaders of the Church are not custodians of a museum, but cultivators of an active garden, who should constantly be sowing new seeds.
