Papal support for reconstruction in earthquake-damaged Italian region
Catholic World News - April 02, 2014
Pope Francis has sent a message of support for the people of Italy’s L’Aquila region, recovering from the earthquake that devastated the region 5 years ago.
During his regular public audience on April 2, the Pontiff acknowledged a group from L’Aquila. He said: “May the reconstruction of homes be accompanied by the rebuilding of churches, which are houses of prayer for all, and the recovery of artistic heritage, which is linked to the revival of the area.”
