Michigan priest responsible for translating Pope's Twitter messages into Latin

The Detroit Free Press has interviewed Msgr. Daniel Gallagher, the 44-year-old Michigan priest responsible for translating the Pope's Twitter messages into Latin.

The Pope's Latin Twitter account has 230,000 followers-- lower than the number of followers of the Spanish (5.2 million) and English (3.8 million) versions, but higher than the number of followers of the German and Polish versions.

“It’s a language that transcends cultures and nations, and many people, especially young people, still crave for Latin because it’s so much fun ,” said Msgr. Gallagher.
