‘Listen to Jesus,’ Pope Francis preaches during parish visit
March 17, 2014
Pope Francis visited Santa Maria dell’Orazione, a parish on the outskirts of Rome, where he met with the sick and disabled, members of the Neocatechumenal Way, and groups of children and parents.
After hearing confessions, the Pope offered Sunday Mass and delivered an extemporaneous homily. “The first duty of a Christian is to listen to the Word of God, to listen to Jesus, because He speaks to us and He saves us with His Word-- and with His word, He also makes our faith stronger, more robust,” the Pope preached. “Listen to Jesus!”
