Italian priest killed; financial motive suspected

A Catholic priest was founded beaten to death in Calabria, Italy, on March 3.

Father Lazzaro Longobardi was apparently killed by blows from an iron bar, which was found on the site of the murder outside his parish church. Police are questioning a suspect, who had reportedly been pressing the priest for cash.
