Elderly nun assaulted in parish parking lot

Catholic World News - December 19, 2013

An 85-year-old nun was beaten and raped in broad daylight in a parish parking lot in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, a town of 9,000 near Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Andrew Bullock, 18, has been arraigned on felony charges of rape, aggravated assault, and sexual assault.

“The Sisters of St. Joseph are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the assault of one of our Sisters,” the nun’s community said in a statement. “As we offer continued prayers of healing for our Sister, we also pray for the young man who has been arrested in the assault.”
