Pope Francis nominated for European communications award

After being named as the Time magazine “Person of the Year,” Pope Francis has also been nominated for recognition as the European Communicator of the Year, the Vatican Insider reports.
The Pope’s name was officially put forward on December 13 for the award by the European Commission. Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, the president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, said that the nomination recognizes the Pope’s unusual ability to communicate “on a human level.”
