Government denies kidnapped bishops are in Turkey

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has denied reports by the Grand Mufti of Syria and others that two Orthodox bishops kidnapped in Syria in April are alive in Turkey.
“These accusations are completely baseless and untrue,” the foreign ministry said in its statement, according to the Beirut-based Daily Star.
