2.5 million attend youth pilgrimage in Argentina
October 08, 2013
An estimated 2.5 million Argentines made the annual 42-mile youth pilgrimage from Buenos Aires to the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján on October 5 and 6, according to L’Osservatore Romano.
The crowd was the largest in the pilgrimage’s 39-year history.
“Until last year, Archbishop Bergoglio was there,” the newspaper noted. “He arrived the day before the main Mass to be able to meet and hear the confessions of the faithful without interruption for nine consecutive hours.”
