CWN - September 30, 2013
Hemachandra Hebal, a Protestant pastor in southwestern India, and his wife suffered severe beatings during a September 29 attack, according to the Global Council of Indian Christians. The attack followed a similar incident the preceding Sunday.
Following the September 29 attack, the crowd of 25 to 30 that beat the pastor and his wife took them to the local police station and demanded that the couple be expelled from the area.
The attack took place in Tarikere, which is located in the state of Karnataka, the site of repeated incidents of violence against Christians.
