Pope confirms 2 more leaders of Roman Curia

September 24, 2013

Continuing his reorganization of the Roman Curia, Pope Francis has confirmed the appointments of two presidents of pontifical Councils.

Cardinal Stanislaw Rylko will remain the president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, a post that he has held since 2003. Archbishop Josef Clemens will remain secretary of the council; he too has been in that spot since 2003.

Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson will remain the president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, continuing the work he began there in 2009. Bishop Mario Toso, who became secretary of the dicastery that same year, will also remain in place.
