Gallup diocese will become 9th in US to file for bankruptcy
CWN - September 03, 2013
The Diocese of Gallup, New Mexico, has announced plans to file for bankruptcy.
The Gallup diocese would be the 9th Catholic diocese in the US to seek federal bankruptcy protection in the wake of the sex-abuse scandal. Bishop James Wall said that the move was “the most effective and thoughtful course to take in light of the claims from those who were abused.”
