Dozens of Christians arrested in China

July 31, 2013

Police in Beijing arrested at least 34 members of a Protestant church during an outdoor worship service, according to an AsiaNews report.

“At least 34 believers were taken away from locations near the platform or from home,” said Rev. Jin Tianming, pastor of Shouwang Church.

The church is not recognized by China’s Communist government, and since 2011 authorities have forced them to meet outside.
