Irish abortion vote postponed
July 11, 2013
Members of the Dáil Éirean – the lower Irish house of parliament – have twice delayed a vote on whether to legalize abortion. The vote, originally scheduled for July 10, was postponed to allow for a nighttime debate, which lasted until nearly 5:00 AM local time. After handling only 10 of 165 proposed amendments to the legislation, the Dáil then adjourned until the afternoon of July 11.
