Melkite bishop opposes US support for Syrian rebels
CWN - July 02, 2013
The head of the Melkite Catholic Church in the US has spoken out against US support for rebels in Syria, warning that Christians in that country have become the victims of a struggle between Islamic sects.
“We’re seeing what looks like an extermination of Christianity,” Bishop Nicholas Samra told the National Catholic Register. “It’s not a healthy situation to help either side militarily at this point.”
