Brazilian unrest will not affect WYD, organizer assures
Catholic World News - June 20, 2013
Riots in Brazilian cities are not posing any danger to plans for World Youth Day (WYD) celebrations in July, the chief coordinator of English-language events has told Vatican Radio.
“Nobody anticipates that there will be any problems going forward,” said Father Michael Rogers. The Jesuit priest said that people traveling to Brazil for WYD should be aware of the unrest in the country, but “people should be rarin’ to go” for the WYD celebration.
