English bishop named co-president of Lutheran-Catholic dialogue commission

Bishop William Kenney, an auxiliary of the Birmingham, England archdiocese, has been named co-president of the International Lutheran-Roman Catholic Commission on Unity.
Bishop Kenney—together with his co-president, the retired Bishop Eero Huovinen of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland—will lead a new round of talks in August, in Japan, on “Baptism and growing Church communion.”
The appointment of Bishop Kenney was announced on June 19 by the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity.
