Reformed seminary challenges HHS mandate

March 13, 2013

A leading Reformed seminary has filed suit against the HHS mandate, which requires most employers to offer insurance that covers drugs that can potentially induce abortions.

“It is indisputable that every human embryo, formed the moment a human egg is fertilized, has a unique human identity,” said Peter Lillback, president of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. “That is a human life the Affordable Care Act we are challenging would destroy.”

The recent “proposed ‘accommodation’ does not protect Westminster, but instead only supplements and makes more stringent the mandate that would override our religious convictions,” Lillback added.
