Medal of Honor for Father Kapuan to be awarded April 11

Catholic World News - March 11, 2013

Father Emil Kapaun, a US Army chaplain who died in a prison camp during the Korean War, will be posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on April 11.

The White House has formally confirmed the news that leaked in February: that Father Kapuan will receive the highest honor for bravery in the US military.

Father Kapuan is also a candidate for beatification. The Diocese of Wichita, Kansas, completed a local investigation into his case in 2011, and forwarded the dossier to the Vatican’s Congregation for the Causes of Saints.

Another prayer answered. God seems to be confirming that "the holy life" cuts through politics. Something I always believed.
