Pakistan: Christian murdered following religious discussion
CWN - February 21, 2013
A Pakistani Muslim has murdered a Christian, according to the Fides news agency.
Sohail Akhtar, the Muslim, shot Roshan Masih, a Hindu convert to Christianity, after Masih defended his Christian beliefs during an argument over religion.
“This is truly a tragedy: an innocent man is slain for defending his faith in a simple argument,” said Mushtaq Gill, an attorney who defends the rights of religious minorities in the Islamic republic. “The episode is emblematic of the conditions of Pakistani Christians.”
