Irish politicians who support abortion should be denied Communion: Cardinal Burke
February 08, 2013
Cardinal Raymond Burke has told an Irish audience that politicians who vote to approve legal abortion should not receive the Eucharist.
In an interview with the Catholic Voice, the head of the Apostolic Signatura said that any political figure who favors legal abortion should be admonished by his pastors, and "as long as he continues to support legislation which fosters abortion or other intrinsic evils, then he should be refused Holy Communion.”

The best of themn do not seem to want to enforce legitimate authority on Catholic politicians in the secular world, hence, we the laity become the victims of moral ambiguity.

Defender, that's obvious. The same should happen to them and Cardinal Burke has made that abundantly clear numerous times. Remember the 2004 presidential campaign? The John Kerry communion watch? The Cardinal happened to be speaking to an Irish audience which is why he made the comments he did.

And we have so many on this side of the pond, too (Biden, Pelosi, etc, etc)...what of them?
