FBI recorded 68 anti-Catholic ‘hate crimes’ in 2011
CWN - December 21, 2012
The FBI crime report for 2011 listed 68 anti-Catholic “hate crimes” in the US.
The FBI statistics included over 6,000 incidents that were classified as hate crimes. Nearly half (47%) were attributed to racial bias, and over one-fifth (21%) to bias involving sexual orientation. A slightly smaller number of crimes, 20%, were attributed to religious bias. Of these, 68—or just over 1% of the overall total of “hate crimes”—were anti-Catholic incidents.
