Weigel reviews the state of debate on the HHS mandate
CWN - December 19, 2012
In National Review, George Weigel reviews what is at stake in the political battle over the contraceptive mandate, where the argument stands today both in Congress and in the courts, and the choices that the American Catholic hierarchy may still face. Weigel argues forcefully that “the bishops must firmly reject any Obama administration attempt to split the opposition by providing an ‘accommodation’ for religious institutions while insisting that the mandate applies to lay employers with religiously informed conscientious objections.”
