Pope, German leader discuss economic crisis

Pope Benedict XVI met on December 6 with Germany’s President Joachim Gauck.
The Pope’s conversation with the German leader centered on the current global economic crisis, and especially the crisis in Europe. They also discussed Church-state relations, globalization and secularization, and (the Vatican noted) “the Christian view of the person.”
