Cardinal George ‘responding well’ to chemotherapy

CWN - December 03, 2012

Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George reported on December 2 that his cancer treatment is progressing well.

“So far, I’m responding well” to chemotherapy, said the cardinal, who disclosed in August that he faced a 2nd battle with cancer.

Cardinal George was pronounced cancer-free after radical surgery in 2006 following a diagnosis of bladder cancer. But doctors found evidence of cancer in his liver and kidney earlier this year. The cardinal, who is 75 years old, has already submitted his resignation to the Pope.
