Benin's president visits Pontiff
CWN - November 19, 2012
Pope Benedict XVI met on November 19 with President Boni Yayi of Benin, for a “cordial” conversation that included recollections of the Pontiff’s visit to the African country last year.
A brief Vatican statement released after the visit said that the Pope spoke with Yayi about Church-state relations, African culture, and the prospects for peace in Africa generally. Yayi is currently the president of the African Union.
