Vatican newspaper decries French magazine cartoon mocking Muhammed
CWN - September 20, 2012
L’Osservatore Romano has decried the decision by a French satirical magazine to include a cartoon mocking Muhammed.
The “questionable” editorial decision by Charlie Hebdo’s weekly magazine to print a cartoon depicting a naked Muhhamed is likely to “add more fuel to the fire” in the tense Islamic world, the Vatican newspaper warned. L’Osservatore noted that the French bishops’ conference had already expressed concern about the cartoon.
