In Catholic World Report, Michael Miller offers a balanced portrait of Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller, whose appointment as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has provoked consternation among Catholics on both extremes of the theological spectrum, liberal and conservative. Most of the complaints against him are based on misunderstanding of his comments, Miller concludes.
