Franciscan University criticized for including homosexuality in ‘deviant behavior’ course
CWN - September 11, 2012
Franciscan University of Steubenville is facing criticism from the Council on Social Work Education and some alumni for including homosexuality in a course entitled “deviant behavior.”
Noting that the course “covers a wide range of topics including crime, alcoholism, heterosexual deviance, and homosexuality,” a university spokesman said that “Franciscan University follows Catholic Church teaching in regard to homosexuality and treats homosexual persons with 'respect, compassion, and sensitivity' while holding homosexual acts as 'intrinsically disordered.'”

No kidding. Homosexuality is deviant behavior. There may be a genetic predisposition for it, just like alcoholism, drug addiction, and other things that are deviant behaviors. That does not mean that we hate those afflicted with the illnesses. But, it does not mean that we abet them in the behjavior either.

Of course homosexual acts are deviant behavior, and everyone who is honest with himself will admit that. Good for Franciscan University to admit that truth.

Those who raised the issue are deviants themselves. And yes, there are deviants who go to school there. I knew some when I was there in early 80's. They still go there and they raise a ruckus now that they're out -- "loud and proud". It's heart-rending that they did not have the ears to hear the fullness of the Gospel.

You are warned, Franciscan U, that you are now in the fight of your young life. Accreditation agencies for schools of behavioral sciences are crawling with practitioners of various deviancies, all with an agenda to fulfill. God be with you.
