Cardinals pay tribute to Nellie Gray
CWN - August 27, 2012
Cardinal Seán O’Malley of Boston and Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington attended the funeral Mass of Nellie Gray, the organizer of the March for Life and a convert to Catholicism.
The Mass was celebrated in the extraordinary form.
“Nellie’s cause was babies, preborn babies,” said Cardinal O’Malley, who helped Gray organize the first March for Life in 1974 and called her the “Joan of Arc of the Gospel of Life.”
“She was the voice for the children of the silent scream,” he added.
