Papal prayers for disaster victims in Philippines, China, Iran
CWN - August 13, 2012
Pope Benedict XVI expressed concern for the victims of natural disasters in the Philippines, China, and Iran at the conclusion of his regular public audience in Sunday, August 12.
The Pontiff asked those who attended his audience—held at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo—to join him in prayers for those struck by devastating monsoon rain in the Philippines, a typhoon in China, and an earthquake in Iran. Each of the disasters caused multiple deaths and injuries and drove hundreds of people from their homes.
