Convicted Philadelphia priest loses bid for bail pending appeal
CWN - August 06, 2012
Msgr. William Lynn has lost a bid to be freed on bail pending his appeal of child-endangerment charges.
Judge Teresa Sarmina, who had sentenced the former Philadelphia archdiocesan official to a 3-6 year prison term, refused to allow the convicted priest to be released on bail, “based on the serious nature of the conduct Msgr. Lynn committed.”
Msgr. Lynn, who has already begun serving his sentence, was not present at the August 6 hearing on his case.
