Bavarian group to perform for Pope

Catholic World News - August 03, 2012

Pope Benedict XVI will meet on Friday evening, August 3, with a large delegation of pilgrims from his native Bavaria.

Led by Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich, the Bavarian delegation of about 450 people will perform some of the songs and dances of their region in the courtyard of the papal summer residence at Castel Gandolfo. Many will wear traditional Bavarian costumes, recreating the atmosphere of their native home. Their visit is a belated birthday gift to the Pontiff, who turned 85 in April.
