Moneyval report seen as major step toward Vatican accountability
CWN - July 20, 2012
John Allen of the National Catholic Reporter writes that the Moneyval report, giving the Holy See a passing grade for financial transparency, is a victory not only for Vatican banking officials but for Pope Benedict XVI.

The Moneyval report, certifying the progress that has been made on the financial front, is a measure of his success. His demand for reform after the sex-abuse scandal is another indication.
